Osleys Iglesias targets Canelo Alvarez–Christian Mbilli winner
Osleys Iglesias identified his next target after defeating Oliver Zaren in Quebec. The Cuban wants the winner of Canelo Alvarez–Christian Mbilli to face him in a unification bout. His seventh-round stoppage of Zaren took his professional record to 16 wins, including 15 inside the distance.
Iglesias holds the IBF super-middleweight belt, which he won by stopping Pavel Silyagin in the eighth round in April 2026. Christian Mbilli holds the WBC title in the division and is due to defend it against Canelo Alvarez in Riyadh on October 31.
A request, not yet a fight
Iglesias has therefore stated a public objective, not announced another fight. The sources confirm Canelo Alvarez–Christian Mbilli and the IBF champion’s request, but report no agreement between Iglesias and the eventual winner.
