Teofimo Lopez favors May 2027 for a fight with Ryan Garcia

Ryan Garcia proposed fighting Teofimo Lopez in December. Lopez responded by identifying May 2027 as the ideal window for their bout. Based on the confirmed information, both dates remain proposals.

Two welterweight titles at stake

Garcia holds the WBC welterweight title, while Lopez owns the WBA belt. A fight between them would therefore unify those two championships.

The schedule also depends on the WBA order requiring Lopez to face Jack Catterall. That obligation remains to be addressed and affects the timing of the proposed fight with Garcia.
