Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn: WBC Welterweight Title on the Line

A Clash for the WBC Welterweight World Title

WBC champion Ryan Garcia takes on British fighter Conor Benn in a world title showdown contested at the 147-pound welterweight limit. Conor Benn enters this championship opportunity holding the number one ranking from the WBC.

This top position within the division under the sanctioning body paved the way for Conor Benn to secure a world title bout against Ryan Garcia.

Conor Benn's Return to 147 Pounds

In preparation for this matchup, Conor Benn makes his return to the 147-pound welterweight division. The British fighter had just competed in two consecutive bouts against rival Chris Eubank Jr well above welterweight before deciding to drop back down.

For his part, Ryan Garcia has previously experienced weight issues. During his 2024 bout against Devin Haney, the American champion came in over the contracted weight limit, and the initial result was subsequently overturned to a no-contest following a positive drug test.
